Seiko's WEBSITE

Currently participating in the doctoral program at Tokyo University of Arts, Seiko is a young artist hailing from Japan and the Czech Republic. With a strong interest in participatory process' she is interested in the relationship between people, and how they are connected. Her works have previously taken the form of performance and installation though seeking to avoid freezing works as a final product so the sentiment of in-completion keeps the circulation in the relationships alive.

During her residency at live.make.share Seiko will take on the role of narrative collector with her project "Listen like a willow.":

This is a phrase from Czech, where I lived previously. I discovered it with a Czech friend when trying to translate the Japanese children's song "Hanabi" (fireworks) to Korean in Hangul. In the song, the word "willow" often appeared, my friend explained the phrase to "Listen like a willow." in the Czech Republic is when someone
listens to sad stories without saying anything.
I found this is very important.
