SIMON_3 – Undecided Productions

Vietnam's favorite Simon Medard returned for his third adventure and second residency at live.make.share.
Carrying on from previous visual research he collected objects and imagery for his collections; loved yet abandoned flowers, fires that nourish and destroy, dancers to distress, drawings of carefree ghosts...

The works developed took the forms of sculptural and video installations, drawings, sound and ceramics, and were featured upon his return in the exhibition "Even when you die, they’ll still come to pick up the garbage." as part of the Confluences series of exhibitions at Les Brasseurs, Liege.

A self-confessed collaboration addict he participated in events and conversations with fellow residents contributing sound, images, thoughts and time to various projects such as Challenge of Realism, Tiny Giant, Gingerella then in turn lovingly inviting artists to participate in his initiatives.

Nghệ sĩ ưa thích của chúng tôi, Simon Medard, đây là lần thứ 3 phiêu lưu tại Việt Nam và lần lưu trú thứ 2 của anh tại live.make.share. Tiếp tục từ lần tìm tòi thị giác lần trước, anh thu nhặt những vật eher và hình ảnh cho bộ sưu tập của mình, những bông hoa còn đẹp nhưng đã bị vứt đi, những ngọn lửa nuôi dưỡng và thiêu hủy mọi thứ, những vũ công, những hình vẽ của ma quỷ...

Những tác phẩm của anh có nhiều hình thức từ điêu khắc, video sắp đặt, vẽ, âm thanh, gốm và được giới thiệu trong triển lảm của anh "Even when you die, they'll still coem to pick up the garbage". một phần của chuỗi "Giao nhập" trong triển lãm tại Les Brasseur, Liege.

Anh cũng góp phần tham gia vào các sự kiện và đối thoại với những nghệ sĩ lưu trú khác, đóng góp về mặt âm thanh, hình ảnh, ý tưởng, suy nghĩ, và thời gian của mình cho nhiều dự án khác nhau như Challenge of Realism, Tiny Giant, Gingerella, và mời những nghệ sĩ đóng góp tham gia vào quá trình sáng tác của mình.

In 2018, Simon came back to Hanoi after a short stint earlier in the year. This time developing his personal practice departing from observations of context, and material or abstract discoveries. He painted in the garden, he drew on all of the paper, he hugged friends and strangers, Simon came to Vietnam, he ran wild, he stormed through landscapes of warmth, he watched fire, he danced, he smiled and shuddered. Simon came to Vietnam. Yes. Simon came to Vietnam.

Simon Medard đã quay lại Hà Nội! Lần này anh phát triển thêm phần thực hành cá nhân ngoài việc quan sát ngữ cảnh, khám phá các chất liệu hay trừu tượng. Anh tô vẽ trong vườn, vẽ trên tất cả loại giấy, ôm bạn bè và người lạ, Simon đã đến Việt Nam, tự do, cuốn qua nhưng cảnh vật, xem lửa cháy, nhảy múa, cười và run rẩy. Simon đã đến Việt Nam!
